Tutoring Mission & Goals
The W Peer Tutoring and Learning Assistance Program assists W students in meeting the University’s academic standards and in attaining their educational goals by teaching skills and strategies which will promote independent and active learning. Services are free to W students.
The vision is to provide W students with the tools they need in order to become independent learners.
We have set in place several goals at the Tutoring Center. These goals are in place to ensure the success of all W students:
- Empower our students with the skills to become confident, effective, independent learners.
- To work in a partnership with the faculty to identify and assist those students with academic needs.
- To assist all of our W students in improving their learning capabilities for their academic classes.
- Offer an individualized learning program for each student in a way that fosters self-confidence, high personal achievement, and independence that will last a lifetime.
