First-year students at MUW can now choose to take a two-semester discovery-based course to learn the fundamentals of biology. SEA-PHAGES is jointly administered by Dr. Graham Hatfull at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Steve Cresawn at James Madison University, and the Science Education division of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Maryland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phages, also known as bacteriophages, are viruses that attack bacteria. Each faculty member has over 20 years of research experience.
