No story may exceed 750 words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nonfiction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One nonfiction piece of up to 3,000 words (1,500 \u2013 3,000 words preferred).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Poetry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One submission of up to five poems that combine to total no more than nine pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Short Plays&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One script excerpt or one act play of 10-15 pages. Please see plays published in our most recent issue for guidance on formatting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note: These are the guidelines for a regular publication. Please check the contest page for the guidelines to our <strong><a href=\"\/ponderreview\/submit\/tenn\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"\/ponderreview\/submit\/tenn\/\">10:4 TENN 10-Minute Play Contest<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Photography, photo essay, graphic literature, painting, collage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Photography, paintings, and collages: one submission of up to five images. <strong>Please submit a high resolution image.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photo essay: one submission of up to 3,000 words and with up to five images.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graphic literature: one submission of up to eight pages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Media<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Podcast, spoken word, interview, short film, animation, and hypertext or kinetic literature are considered for our website<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Podcast, spoken word, and interview<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Short film and animation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hypertext literature<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kinetic poetry or prose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other: surprise us<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Required Format<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Times Roman 12pt. All prose should be double-spaced. Poetry should be single-spaced.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ponder Review<\/em> does not accept previously published material nor does it accept multiple submissions per issue. <em>Ponder Review\u00a0<\/em>does not accept AI-generated or produced work.\u00a0Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but contact <em>Ponder Review<\/em> if your work has been accepted for publication elsewhere. Do not withdraw your entire submission unless you no longer want <em>Ponder Review<\/em> to consider it. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in your submission being denied. Please make all submissions through Submittable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ponder Review<\/em> will notify writers and artists of their submission status via email. The reading and acceptance process can take up to 4 months. By submitting writers acknowledge: <em>Ponder Review<\/em> is currently a non-paying market, and that <em>Ponder Review<\/em> requires first-time North American publishing rights with the right to reprint submissions in subsequent anthologies even after publication rights have reverted back to author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accepted work is subject for use in any future anthologies, both digital and print, and Ponder Review asks that any reprints give first publication credit to Ponder Review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students and alumni of Mississippi University for Women may not submit to Ponder Review or its associated contests for at least 5 years from their last enrollment at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our two reading periods each year are: December 15 &#8211; March 15 &amp; June 15 &#8211; September 15.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While we accept past contributors in each reading period, <em>Ponder Review<\/em> asks that contributors wait one year post publication to submit to us again.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ponderreview.submittable.com\/submit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/manager.submittable.com\/Public\/Images\/submittable-submit-button.png\" alt=\"submit\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ponder Review welcomes fiction, nonfiction, poetry, short plays, flash-fiction, new media, and visual art.
