They are able to learn basic and advanced clinical skills ranging from bed baths to physical assessments and initiation of intravenous access. It is staffed with a full time, baccalaureate prepared registered nurse.
It is open July-May, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (except for Holidays).
The Practice Rooms may be reserved by Faculty for demonstrations, practice, & testing purposes.
Nursing Simulation Lab
The Nursing Simulation Lab is located in Martin Hall, Rooms 212 & 315 and is exclusively for the use of the Nursing Department.
It is home to a family of simulated patients and hospital settings that allow nursing students to practice techniques and independent thinking in a safe environment. Nursing faculty are able to expose our students to specific learning objectives and complex clinical experiences that they may not have the opportunity to see in their hospital clinical experiences. They gain a more comprehensive clinical exposure, faculty feedback and evaluation, improved communication, team work, and critical thinking skills through their experiences in the simulation lab.
Our simulation family includes: 2 infants, 3 children, 3 adults, and a birthing mother. These simulators are fully interactive mannequins that have the ability to talk and breath, as well as make lung sounds, heart sounds and rhythms, bowel sounds, pulses, and varied vital signs.
It is open July-May, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (except for Holidays) by faculty reservation only.
