Welcome to the Department of Health & Kinesiology (H&K).  The Department of H&K has a variety of programs at both the graduate and undergraduate levels for those interested in health-related careers.  Our undergraduate programs include Exercise Science, Kinesiology-Teacher Education (Physical Educational) Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Occupational Therapy, and Public Health Education.  The Department also offers a M.S. Degree in Health Education for those interested in graduate work.  In addition to these health-related programs, the University’s General Studies program is housed within the Department of H&K.  Our programs and courses are offered via traditional classroom delivery as well as online. Both the B.S. in Public Health Education and the M.S. in Health Education programs are offered fully online providing the convenience of distance education for students who cannot travel to campus.

We are fortunate to have as our home the Emma Ody Pohl Education Building.  The Pohl-Stark Recreation Center is a modern recreation and fitness center that is available to all MUW students, faculty, and staff.  The Pohl Building includes comfortable classrooms with the latest teaching and learning technologies. The Pohl facility also includes the Department of H&K Human Performance Laboratory. This laboratory contains state-of-the-art health and fitness equipment including an underwater weighing tank, a complete metabolic measuring system, two 12-lead EKG stress testing systems, a computer-interfaced anaerobic power measuring system, and many other devices used to assess physical fitness and health.

Please stop by and let us show you around. We have a wonder facility and fantastic faculty and staff. I am confident that you can get a quality education in a very personalized learning environment with us.
