COLUMBUS, Miss. –  Prospective students are invited to the campus of Mississippi University for Women for Fall Open House Friday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.

The event, which is organized by The W’s Office of Admissions, will introduce interested students to the University and provide opportunities for students and their families to learn from representatives from Campus Recreation, Financial Aid, Housing, Police Department, Information Technology Services, Student Success Center and Student Life.

Students can register for the event online at: https://www.muw.edu/admissions/visit/openhouse.

“We are so excited to be hosting our Fall Open House face to face again,” said Iika McCarter, director of admissions. “Bringing this event back in-person will give our prospective students a true sense of campus life and just how beautiful our campus really is.”

The event will kick off with check-in and registration at 1 p.m. An overview of The W, featuring an introduction of the admissions staff, school roll call and an overview of the admissions department will follow from 1:30 -2 p.m.

Students then will be able to take part in a question and answer session with representatives from various departments at the university, from 2- 2:30 p.m., followed by an Academic Breakout from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. The breakout will be held in a college fair type session and will allow students to meet with faculty from each school or college and learn more about The W’s academic offerings.

The event will conclude with a campus tour lead by current students.

“This event will allow students to have an up-close connection with people who will be able to answer their burning questions, whether it be about admissions, housing or how much school will cost,” McCarter said. “They will have an opportunity to discuss their majors with faculty from each college and hear about campus life.”
