COLUMBUS, Miss.-- Mississippi University for Women has earned another national ranking.
Study.com ranked The W’s online bachelor degree programs in business management No. 30 on a breakdown of the country’s top offerings. The W received the highest ranking in the state of Mississippi.
“Our talented faculty work to continuously improve and update our curriculum,” said Dr. Marty Brock, dean, College and Business and Professional Studies and professor of management information systems. “From being among the first in the state to offer career and technical transfer pathways to building new concentrations such as nonprofit management and sports management, they have been innovative in meeting the changing needs of our students. It is truly a pleasure to see that effort being recognized.”
Study.com, an online learning platform, allows individuals to research possible schools, degrees and careers. It considered hundreds of universities across the country and gathered information on business program accreditation, unique features and the availability of student resources for online learners. It examined data found at the Department of Education, including student retention, graduation and tuition rates. The W was selected based on its academic and career resources, the quality of education, faculty, and more.
“Columbus-based Mississippi University for Women stands out for the impressive array of management programs available in an online format,” Study.com wrote. “Students at this university can find a wealth of excellent options.
“Online business management students have access to abundant student services at their fingertips - including a virtual library offering research assistance and virtual databases and a 24/7 computer lab.”
The W offers Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Applied Science degrees in business administration with concentrations in management, healthcare management, human resource management, culinary management and nonprofit management.
“I’m thrilled The W has been recognized by Study.com as one of the best online bachelor degree programs in business management,” said Dr. Dee Larson, department chair, coordinator, graduate studies in business and professor, marketing and management. “We are proud to be able to offer such a wide array of online management programs to men and women across the country. We have been ranked as one of the most affordable online business programs in the nation, and we have a low student-to-faculty ratio that fosters a close student/faculty relationship. Small class sizes allow our fantastic faculty to actively engage our students and make learning relate to real world experiences.”
