The City of Columbus & The W require individuals to wear masks. All faculty, staff, students, and visitors are required to wear face coverings unless walking alone in an outdoor space or working alone in a personal office space.

COLUMBUS, Miss.--The W’s music department will present a virtual recital Friday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m.  The concert will feature W music professor Valentin M. Bogdan performing works by George Frideric Handel, Franz Liszt and Carmen Petra Basacopol.

Due to Covid 19, there will be no live audience for this event, but the concert will be streamed to The W music department’s website.  The event is free, and no additional log in information is needed. The virtual concert will be the first the series presented by the department. Upcoming virtual concerts will feature student and faculty performances, and the 5th International Music by Women Festival which will take place in March 2021

Pianist and composer Valentin M. Bogdan has been part of The W music department since 2013. A prizewinner at international and national music competitions, he has concertized in Europe (Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Russia), Jordan, Canada and the United States. He is also the winner of a 2018 Mississippi Arts Commission Fellowship, awarded for his musical contributions.
