COLUMBUS, Miss. -- The Office of University Relations at Mississippi University for Women won seven awards, including three first place honors, at the annual College Public Relations Association of Mississippi awards competition.

Staff members competed in the senior division, which includes all of the state's public and private four-year colleges and universities. The awards were announced Monday during an online presentation.

W alumnus Rich Sobolewski, web communications director, won first place with the website titled “Owls Park.” W graduate Erik Studdard, graphic artist, earned first place for “The Blue For You Viewbook.” Communications Director Tyler Wheat garnered first place for his sports feature story titled “Hustle and Heal.”

Chris Jenkins, university photographer and videographer, placed second for sports photography, “Hustle and Heal.”

The university magazine, Visions, which is produced in-house by the UR team and distributed to about 26,000 alumni and friends of the university, won second place in the institutional magazine category. Visions is published in the spring, summer and fall.

 Additionally, the team took home third place honors for photography “Inauguration Celebration” and “Culinary Arts Institute” webpage.
