COLUMBUS, Miss. – The College of Business and Professional Studies at Mississippi University for Women has been ranked number 23 by OnlineU.org in the 2020 Most Affordable Online Colleges for Business Degrees ranking.

“The W’s Department of Business and Professional Studies offers high quality programs in several concentration areas and we are thrilled that both our quality and affordability continue to be recognized.  Our department’s faculty are all seasoned online instructors who are able to tailor the personalized educational experience that The W is known for into the online environment.”  said Dr. Marty Brock, dean of the College of Business and Professional Studies.

The College of Business and Professional Studies offers a personalized and professional opportunity for students to pursue degrees in accounting, business administration, culinary arts, legal studies and professional studies.

OnlineU highlighted The W’s 98% acceptance rate, accreditation and annual tuition.

For the online rankings, colleges and universities needed to be regionally or nationally accredited and offer at least one online degree in a given subject for the degree level of the list. Tuitions were manually researched and out-of-state tuitions were used unless in-state tuition is offered to all online students.

Acceptance rates, programmatic accreditation and profit status of schools were collected from official websites of the accreditation agencies from the National Center for Education Statistics. The NCES is the primary governmental entity for gathering and presenting data related to education. Program data including available degrees, tuition rates and details about program coursework were collected from official school websites, reflecting data for the 2019-2020 school year.

OnlineU has been publishing rankings of online colleges since 2014 and awarding scholarships since 2010.

The W's College of Business and Professional Studies offers a bachelor of business administration program with concentrations in general business, marketing, management and management information systems. The Culinary Arts Institute offers one of the few baccalaureate opportunities in the discipline. The Legal Studies Program at The W is one of only two ABA-approved programs in the state of Mississippi.
