COLUMBUS, Miss.— Dr. Dee Larson, coordinator of graduate studies in business and professor of marketing and management, has been named chair of the Department of Business at Mississippi University for Women.
“I’m honored that The W has entrusted me to be the department chair of Business. Over the past 20 years, I have seen many wonderful things happen at this unique university and I know the future is bright,” said Larson.
For Dr. Larson, inclusion and growth will continue to be the primary focus for the department.
She said, “As department chair, I want to continue to build on the solid foundation that has been created by the previous administration, faculty and staff. We will continue to provide a personalized learning experience for the students and deliver excellence in the classroom.”
Larson also noted that the department’s faculty members have never been afraid to try new things. Their collaboration and hard work have been vital to the success of the program. She looks to continue that tradition.
“As a small institution, we can act fast on the ever-changing needs of today’s business world. We have become very good at creating new programs to ensure that our students have the best education possible to be the business leaders of the future,” explained Larson.
“The faculty and staff in the Department of Business are like no other. I’m so proud of each and every one of them and I’m grateful to be a part of this fantastic team. I want to be an advocate for the department and to foster optimism and growth. I want to listen, learn and be open to new ideas.” ”
