Equality Through Understanding

Women's studies is grounded in an ongoing commitment to academic and leadership development for women. Using an interdisciplinary approach, students critically examine the social construction of gender and the status of women in diverse cultural contexts and time periods. The women's studies program emphasizes both scholarly exploration and the application of knowledge to practical women's issues.

 

As a women's studies major, you will take classes such as:

  • Images of Women in Film
  • Women in European or American History
  • Women in Literature
  • Women's Health Issues
  • Strategies for the Managerial Women
