The Columbus-Lowndes Public Library System (CLPLS) is hosting the exhibit\u00a0Frederick Douglass: Advocate for Equality\u00a0from February 3-27, 2026.
\nThis exhibition, organized by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History,\u00a0features an exploration of the full trajectory of Douglass\u2019s epic life from 1818 to 1895.\u00a0 In this traveling exhibition, viewers can learn about Douglass\u2019s escape from slavery, his work as an abolitionist, and his tireless fight for equality for all individuals in the Jim Crow era. \u00a0This exhibition explores Douglass\u2019s impact and his life through his own words and in photographs and documents from the Gilder Lehrman Collection.
\nThe exhibit is open to the public and available for viewing during regular operating hours Monday through Thursday 9am to 6pm, Fridays 9am to 2pm, and Saturdays 9am to 2pm.\u200b
