Freshman Residency Requirement
Ample research across the United States over the last 30 years has provided compelling evidence that students who live in university-provided housing perform better academically, and enjoy a higher degree of satisfaction with their college experience, than students who live off-campus or commute. In recognition of the value of the living-learning experience associated with on-campus living, effective 2017 Fall Semester, Mississippi University for Women will require first year students to live on campus in residence halls.
New Resident Application
Each year we welcome around 550 students to the on-campus community.
Whether you are a first-time freshman or a transfer student, we look forward to seeing you during the summer orientation sessions and when you move into your residence hall in August.
Convenient living at the heart of it all. Kincannon is home to our Freshmen residents.
Move In Day can be intimidating. Nearly 600 men and women will all converge on campus and fill all of the residence halls in a single afternoon! Crazy right?! We've got the guide to everything you need, from how to find your way around The W campus, to where you can grab something to eat.
Office of Housing and Residence Life staff works hard to provide the safest environment possible in the residence halls. In return, you are asked to take the time to think about your own safety by considering the policies and procedures.
