MGS 2026: VOICES<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVoices\u201d celebrates the power of expression, perspective, and dialogue in shaping our world. This theme invites scholars to explore the many ways voices\u2014both individual and collective\u2014can inspire change, foster understanding, and build stronger communities. From amplifying underrepresented perspectives to engaging in open conversations across differences, students will examine how communication fuels innovation, empathy, and leadership. Through collaborative learning, creative expression, and critical inquiry, participants will discover how their own voices contribute to a chorus that drives progress. \u201cVoices\u201d challenges scholars to listen deeply, speak thoughtfully, and use their influence to create lasting positive impact in their communities and beyond.<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mississippi Governor\u2019s School (MGS) is a tuition-free residential honors program that offers unique creative and academic experiences to students with exceptional abilities and achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For two weeks each June, MGS invites rising high school juniors and seniors from all over the state to the Mississippi University for Women campus. During their time in the program, MGS scholars take rigorous interdisciplinary courses, engage in team-building exercises, and create lifelong friendships and memories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MGS will be held May 31 – June 13, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and close on November 9, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We accepted around one-third of applicants for the 2025 summer cohort. Please be aware that this is a competitive process, and completing all steps is essential.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our team will review your submission and contact you at the email address provided if any information or materials (such as a recommendation letter) are missing, uploaded incorrectly, or need correction. Please check your email regularly for updates. We will notify first-round awardees by December 20, and wait-list and second-round awardees in January. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
