Wicker Center for Creative Learning was established in 2004 and was initially funded by a congressionally-directed grant through the US Department of Education.&nbsp;Housed on the campus of Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS, the Center provided action-based innovative programs to strengthen communities and was missioned to provide innovations in learning, service, and research.&nbsp;This mission was realized through the development and delivery of quality, innovative programs and services that fell into one of the Center\u2019s three goal areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To support economic and social advancement for the community;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop and implement innovative programs and models for positive change;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To provide opportunities for professional growth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through programs, services, print materials, and technology, the Center served as a vehicle for connecting preK-12 learners, parents, educators, and community members with best practices for innovative learning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The foundation of today\u2019s Center for Education Support The Roger F.
