Teaching areas: World Civilizations I & II, Medieval History, Ancient History, Gender and Women's History, Cultural History. Upper-level classes include: The Graeco-Roman World; Rise of Christianity and the Fall of Rome, 200-1000; High and Late Medieval Europe; Medieval Christianity; Rise of Islam: The Medieval Middle East; The Byzantine Empire; and Women in European History.

Research interests: Gender, youth, and education in early medieval Europe; cultural history of medieval Ireland and its connections to the rest of western Europe.
