The annual Online Teaching Academy will be hosted by the Kossen Center for Teaching & Learning May 5-15, 2020. This program is best suited for faculty at a beginner or intermediate experience level of online teaching. No prior experience with online teaching is required. Registration is limited to the first 12 applicants. While all W faculty are encouraged to apply, priority registration status will be given to those who have not participated in a previous Online Teaching Academy.
The content areas include universal design for learning (UDL), ADA accessibility recommendations for curriculum, Smarter Proctoring and Lockdown Browser instruction. The course is completed entirely online and a modest stipend will be awarded to those who complete the course. In addition, participants will receive a resource book and webcam.
Additional opportunities will be offered for workshops on creating content that is accessible and ADA compliant. Using Canvas as a tool for teaching both online and hybrid courses will also be available during the two weeks to anyone wanting to attend.
