COLUMBUS, Miss. -- The Department of Theatre at Mississippi University for Women will present “No Exit” Thursday, Nov. 7 -Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. The play is written by Jean Paul Sartre and adapted from the French by Paul Bowles.
“It seems in today’s society more than ever people struggle with defining who they are. The dependency is on other people to define one’s character. In `No Exit,’ John Paul Sartre writes about three of these people and the character flaws that ultimately force them into committing horrendous crimes on earth and their decent into the ‘imagined hell,’” said director Kathy Newman.
The featured cast includes Payton Bellew as Bellboy, Brittany Bigott as Inez, Abigail McCreary as Estelle and Drew Nunley as Cradeau.
The production team includes theatre faculty members Kathy Newman, director; David Carter, scenic, lighting design and producer; and Lee Crouse, movement coach/marketing.
Student production staff: John Alex Nunnery, stage manager; Payton Bellew, sound design; Miles Jordan, original music; Jordan Rauhoff, assistant stage manager/dramaturg; Katie Ballinger, master electrician/light board operator; and Kendashia Smith, sound board operator.
The marketing images were designed by W graphic arts student Haley Rountree.
