The MUW History Society strives to create opportunities for students to explore a broad range of topics related to history. We want history to seem interesting to everyone, so we have covered topics that include 'The Dark History of Nursery Rhymes,' 'Women's History,' and 'Secret Societies.' Professors have held talks on 'Dia de Los Muertos' and 'St. Patrick.' We have completed field trips to the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, the Museum of Mississippi History, and the Grant Memorial Library. Finally, we have held trivia and historical games nights filled with laughter and snacks!

Since 1881, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) has been the nation's leading voice promoting education and equity for women and girls. We have a nationwide network of more than 100,000 members and donors, 1,000 branches, and 500 college/university institution partners. For over 130 years, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic, and political.
