As a major exhibit of the photographs of O.N. Pruitt runs at the Columbus Arts Council through April 23, Dr. Berkley Hudson will discuss the significance of the collection as part of the Forum Series hosted by The W’s Gordy Honors College.

Pruitt recorded life in Columbus, Mississippi, 1920-1960, providing a rich visual history of cultural diversity, race relations, and issues of class, gender, and religion in the American South of that era. In addition to curating the exhibit of Pruitt’s work, Hudson has authored a companion book of almost 200 of his photographs. He will sign books at Friendly City Books 2-4 p.m. on Feb.17 in advance of the Forum Series event.
