Mississippi soprano, Elizabeth Jones, recently made her debut with the Mediterranean Opera Festival, in Caltagirone, Italy, where she sang Musetta (La bohème), and Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia). She was featured in Varna International Opera Academy’s 2012 and 2013 seasons first as Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) and then as Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro). In addition to her performances in Italy, and Bulgaria, Elizabeth was an artist in the 2012 Russian Opera Training Workshop at the Academy of Vocal Arts where she sang, Masha, in Tchaikovsky’s Pique Dame. A few of her other roles include Meg (Little Women) and Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw). In 2014 Elizabeth was chosen as an Outreach Artist for the prestigious Sherrill Milnes’s Savannah Voice Festival. As an Outreach Artist, Elizabeth served as an ambassador for the Savannah Voice Festival, participating in outreach events, concerts, and opera scenes performances. Elizabeth received her Master’s Degree from Georgia State University in Vocal Performance, and her Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University in Voice. She currently serves as Visiting Instructor of Voice, at Mississippi University for Women. Elizabeth is a native of Starkville, Mississippi.
