History

History majors engage in original research through the Capstone course offered in the senior year. Whether it is interviewing the women who desegregated the university or working at The W archives, you will gain significant research experience. Working in small classes and with one-on-one faculty contact, you will do history, not just study history. History includes opportunities to complete study abroad and internship experiences at local, state, and national museums and archives.

Political Science, BS

Our political science program is specifically designed to equip students for democratic engagement and leadership in addition to scholarship. Coursework prepares students to navigate governmental institutions, think strategically about politics, and critically examine political ideas and behaviors. Internships and a focus on active learning in the classroom ensure graduates are ready to apply the skills and knowledge they've gained. With concentrations in Social Studies and Nonprofit Advocacy, the political science program serves students with an array of interests and career goals, from aspiring lawyers and government officials to social studies teachers and nonprofit leaders. Come find your path to politics!

Interdisciplinary Studies, BA/BS

Do you feel limited by the curriculum of a single major? Would you like to design your own curriculum to link together separate academic interests? If so, then the Interdisciplinary Studies (IS) major may be for you. This program is not easy, but for fiercely self-motivated students who like the idea of tailoring their own degree, IS is a great solution.
