{"id":629,"date":"2025-03-05T10:35:01","date_gmt":"2025-03-05T16:35:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.muw.edu\/admissions\/?page_id=629"},"modified":"2025-11-21T14:10:34","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T20:10:34","slug":"requirements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.muw.edu\/admissions\/dualenrollment\/requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Eligibility Criteria and Placement Procedures for Dual Enrollment &amp; Dual Credit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\"><strong>To be eligible for enrollment, a high school student must meet the following criteria:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be classified as a junior or higher<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a minimum overall high school GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take the ACT\/SAT at least once and received a minimum composite score of 16<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obtain an unconditional recommendation from his\/her high school principal and\/or counselor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete any college-level prerequisites required for The W courses for which they wish to register<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have a minimum high school GPA of 3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Earn a minimum composite ACT score of 30 or the equivalent SAT score<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obtain an unconditional recommendation from his\/her high school counselor or principal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete any college-level prerequisites required for The W courses for which they wish to register<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At The W, some courses require a specific sub-score on the ACT\/SAT to take the course as detailed in The W Bulletin (https:\/\/bulletin.muw.edu\/). The following sub-scores are required:<br>\u2022 English Composition: ACT English sub-score of 17<br>\u2022 History and\/or Literature: ACT Reading sub-score of 17<br>\u2022 College-level Mathematics: ACT Mathematics sub-score of 19<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-ad2f72ca wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\">Dual credit students earn both <strong>college and high school credit<\/strong>, but approval from their school district is required for their high school credit. To remain eligible for dual credit, students must earn a B average in their first two approved dual-credit courses.
