Dr. Pamela Peeke:
Keynote
Speaker for
MUW's Women's Health Awareness
COLUMBUS, Miss. - A women's health awareness program at
Mississippi University for Women will feature Dr. Pamela
Peeke, a nationally known speaker, author and women's
health expert on Wednesday, March 22.
Peeke will begin the day with a presentation titled
"Practice What You Preach: How to Stay Healthy Enough to
be a Health Professional."
The program, which is a part of the Miller Lecture, will
be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Parkinson Hall Nissan
Auditorium.
A luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the
Pope Banquet Room of the Hogarth Dining Center. During
this program, Peeke will discuss "Stressed for Success:
The Key to a Lifetime of Wellness is Vitamin B:
Balance!"
Peeke will be signing and selling copies of her book
"Body for Life for Women," a New York Times bestseller,
after the morning presentation as well as at the
conclusion of her lunch presentation.
The cost of lunch is $10 and tickets must be purchased
by close of business on Monday, March 20. Tickets may be
purchased from the MUW Health and Kinesiology Department
or the MUW Southern Women's Institute.
Both events are open to students, faculty, staff and
community members.
The lecture and luncheon are sponsored by the MUW Health
and Kinesiology Department, the Southern Women's
Institute, the MUW Foundation, Baptist Memorial
Hospital-Golden Triangle and the Columbus Convention and
Visitors Bureau.
Dr. Joyce Yates, professor of health and kinesiology,
said, "We are excited to have such a celebrated medical
expert in the field of women's health to be a visitor to
Mississippi. We look forward to her sharing information
vital to quality of life and disease prevention."
