Keynote Speaker: Julie McAdory

Julie McAdory is employed by Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater New Orleans, Inc. as Hattiesburg, MS Branch Manager and Mississippi’s Education Director. She is a certified credit and housing counselor.
She became convinced that our young people lack basic money management skills.  Her continued lobbying efforts led to passage of House Bill 820 in 1999, which requires that all Mississippi schools offer classes in personal finance.  McAdory serves as the Mississippi Jump$tart State Coalition Leader.
McAdory co-authored “HomeWise” Post Purchase Curriculum and has conducted “Train the Trainer” workshops for over 70 organizations throughout Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas. She also conducts “Credit When Credit is Due” “Train the Trainer” workshops and Employee Assistance Programs.
McAdory has presented at conferences sponsored by MS Home Corporation, Credit Union National Association (CUNA), MS Credit Union Association, MS Department of Human Services, Foundation of the MidSouth, MS Development Authority, MS Private School Education Association, MS Business Teachers Association, MS Department of Education, MS Attorney General’s Office, Louisiana’s Federation of Housing Counselors, MS Association of Community Action Agencies, and Housing Education & Economic Development (HEED).
Julie serves as a board member for the Mississippi IDA Partnership (MIDAP), the Hattiesburg Mayor’s Financial Education Initiative, and the Hattiesburg BancorpSouth Advisory Council.  She served as Vice Chair of Mississippi Homebuyer Education Center/Mississippi Housing Initiative (MHI) in 2002. Julie served as board member for the Forrest/ Lamar County Junior Achievement, and the Hattiesburg Area Habitat for Humanity.
