Student Organizations

Greek Life & Social Clubs at The W

Social organizations provides a loyal and supportive community in which students can cultivate new leadership skills, academic discipline, event planning, financial responsibility, and social networking skills. Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) at The W serves as the representative body for student needs by being the liaison between students and campus administrators and advocating for student satisfaction and success at MUW.  View the SGA website.

The W Leadership Program

Community Service

The Office of Community Service recruits volunteers from the student body, networks with service agencies in the community that need volunteers, matches and places volunteers with an agency of their choosing. Visit the Community Service website.

With a rich history and passionate W family, traditions have developed since the inception of Mississippi University for Women.   • SongFest 2017 Fri. 31 Mar, 2017 (7:00 pm - 9:00 pm)   Song Fest is an opportunity for MUW's four-year social clubs to compete in a song and dance competition.  All dances are choreographed by members of their respective organizations. This is a must see event.  
  • Safe Zone Training Tue. 4 Apr, 2017 (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm) As Continued support of LGBT+ in our community we are providing a Safe Zone Training. It is an educational program that fosters a safe and civil community for all individuals, particularly members of our community who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT+).   • Sophomore/ Junior Rivalry Interest Meeting Tue. 4 Apr, 2017 (9:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
  • Sophomore/ Junior Rivalry Mon. 10 Apr, 2017 4:00 pm - Wed. 12 Apr, 2017 8:00 pm The different classes at the university compete in a number of fun and energetic activities as part of Sophomore/Junior Rivalry. Rivalry is tradition that allows girls interested in Two Year Social Clubs to learn more about the three Two Year Social Clubs on the campus. The three day event includes club parties, tray stealing, shaving cream fight and more. If you are interested in joining a Two Year Social Club, then is one event that you do not want to miss!!
  • Orientation Wed. 19 Apr, 2017 9:00 am - Thu. 20 Apr, 2017 5:00 pm Orientation is a program that will assist both Freshman and Transfer students to have a smooth transition as they start their new journey here at The W. Orientation will give students the opportunity to learn more about the University, services offered to students, and academic programs, along with enrolling in classes for the upcoming fall semester. During Orientation you will get to meet and get to know your upcoming classmates and engage with currently enrolled W students. You will also get the opportunity to connect with members of the University's faculty and staff. Orientation does not stop at just students. We also have a parent/ family orientation experience that accompanies most of the Student's Orientation sessions. We develop programming for parent and family members that are specific to their needs.  We look forward to seeing you at Orientation!
