2nd Annual Pan African
Network
Achievement Awards
March 20 - March 24, 2010,
Boston, MA
History
The Pan African Network sponsors the Pan African Network Achievement Awards to
recognize African American/Black student affairs professionals who have excelled
in the areas of citizenship, innovation, leadership, and distinguished service
to others. These professionals serve as a source of pride and inspiration to
others by giving unselfishly of themselves in order to enhance the student
affairs profession. All awards recipients and nominees will be announced during
the annual ACPA Conference in Boston, MA March 20 – March 24, 2010.
Awards Descriptions
Outstanding Graduate
Student Award
The Outstanding Graduate Student Award is designed to recognize the early
accomplishments of up-and-coming student affairs professionals. Any professional
full-time graduate student or graduate assistant studying at the Master’s or
Doctoral Degree Level is eligible for this award. The committee will recognize
the graduate student who has made significant contributions to the profession
through academic research, work, and service.
Outstanding New
Professional Award
The Outstanding New Professional Award is
designed to recognize
the accomplishments of student affairs professionals with no more than 3 years
experience within the profession. The committee will recognize the professional
who have begun to develop their leadership skills and made significant
contributions to the profession.
Legacy Award (Seasoned
professional award)
The Legacy Award is designed to recognize the accomplishments of experienced
student affairs professionals. Any professional who has made significant
contributions to their institution and to the student affairs profession is
eligible for this award. Nominees must have a minimum of 10 years (graduate
study can be included) of experience within the
profession.
PAN Award of Excellence
The PAN Award of Excellence is designed to honor a professional who has made
significant personal and professional contributions to enhance the mission and
purpose of student affairs through their collaboration, involvement in ACPA, and
support of the mission and vision of the Pan African Network. Nominees can be
graduate students or professionals. No minimum years of experience is required.
Application Eligibility
Requirements:

Only ACPA members
who are of the African American/Black decent are eligible for these
leadership awards.

Nominees must be
currently working at an institution within student affairs or receiving a
degree in a student affairs related field at the time a nomination is
submitted.

Applications and
nominations may be submitted for multiple awards if a nominee meets criteria
and eligibility requirements.
Nominations
Any member of the American College Personnel Association (APCA) may submit
nominations for awards.

All nominations must be submitted by Friday, January 22, 2010 by 5:00 pm to Ms.

No late nominations will be accepted. Nominations will be reviewed by a
committee of faculty, staff, and former award recipients. If you have any
