W Day
events should be sent to her by email or by phone.

give
the approval to begin the planning process. Committee volunteers
were
taken and are as follows: Nancy Gault, Heather Hannah, Robin
Holliman,
Judy Turnage, and Lola Wilson. Any other staff council member
interested in joining this committee should contact Heather Hannah
as
soon as possible.
MASCO report was given by Karen McGuff. Minutes were passed out
and
discussed. Their meetings will remain bi-monthly. 7 of
8 schools were
in attendance. There will be no increase in insurance this year
and
deductibles will be the same. Their next meeting will be on May
22 in
Jackson.
Faculty/Staff Apartments- A staff member questioned the enforcement
of
the three year lease policy. Sherry will try and find out why
the 3
year time frame was placed on the lease and will suggest that they
either change or enforce the three year program. Discussion followed
regarding students living in the housing. It is in the handbook
as an
option for students.
Director's Council is working on a policy statement to mirror the
Faculty Senate's policy on salary increases. They are also working
on a
new evaluation form.
SACS- Many thanks went to the faculty and all of their hard work on
the
SACS Visit. The staff were omitted during the thanks. Staff
were not
invited to the closure meeting. Sherry Honsinger will address
this at
Administrative Council.
Memo from Dr Limbert- will be forwarded to Staff Council
Council member questioned a precedence. In some cases, offices
who
"deleted" positions have been able to disburse the salary of the deleted
position to others in the office who would be taking over those
responsibilities. Why are some offices allowed to do this and
others
not allowed?
Absent members -Members who have missed three consecutive meetings
without excuses are automatically removed from the council. Susan
Sobley will look at the last election ballots and seek to fill those
positions.
Kelly Drake volunteered to keep the Staff Council Web site updated.
A Council Member asked that we find out about choosing some motivational
speakers to come and address staff, students and faculty. Discussion
followed and Sherry Honsinger will check into that possibility.
Any staff member who has questions that they would like for Dr Limbert
to address when she meets with staff council is urged to forward those
questions to Sherry Honsinger as soon as possible.
