Student Government
Association (SGA) was created in 1910 by the
adoption of the SGA Constitution. Its organization
is based on the pattern of our national government,
with executive, legislative and judicial branches.
SGA serves as the official voice between the student
body of Mississippi University for Women and the
administration of the University, and also as a
mediator between local, state and federal
governments.
SGA governs all students enrolled at the university
who are taking one or more hours. The association
promotes the welfare of each student and strives to
maintain the maximum personal, social and political
development of the Mississippi University for Women
student, individually and collectively.
