The Student Government Association (SGA) at The W serves as the representative body for student needs by being the liaison between students and campus administrators and advocating for student satisfaction and success at MUW.  The Executive Officers and Senate members are visible on campus and host numerous programs and opportunities for you to get involved!

SGA Elections

2015-2016 Hall of Fame Elections

The SGA Hall of Fame is open to current MUW Students in Senior standing.

10 applicants will be chosen by the SGA Executive board for the ballot. The student community will vote to determine who will win the title as Miss MUW and Mr. Henry L. Whitefield.

The female with the most votes will be named Miss MUW and  The male with the most votes will be named Mr. Henry Whitfield Man of the Year. The other eight applicants will be members of the MUW Hall of Fame.

Before beginning the form make sure you have the following ready to upload:

  • A platform/bio for your candidacy
  • A photograph to upload
  • Contact information for someone who will serve as a reference.

    Note-all candidate GPAs will be checked by the SGA Advisor. Qualified candidates will need to have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

2016-2017 Executive Board Elections

The SGA is seeking canidates for the 2016-2017 SGA Executive Team

Elected positions:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Program and Activities Coordinator

Appointed positions:

  • Executive Assistant
  • Media Coordinator
  • Graphic Consultant
  • Director of Finance and Community Outreach

A description of the positions can be found in the MUW SGA Constitution on pages 5-9.  The constitution is located under the Files tab in this portal.

Before beginning the form make sure you have the following ready to upload:

SGA Achievment Awards

Nominate an outstanding individual for the SGA Achievment Awards!

 

Annually the SGA awards slected award recpeients who expelify the criteria for each respected award.

Complete applications include the nominees resume, and a nomination letter indicating why you feel the nominee should receive the award.

Applications are reviewed and selected by a review committee. Award recipients will be recognized at the Second Annual Leadership Summit co-sponsored by The Office of Student Life, The W Leadership Program, and the Student Government Association.

*One application per nomination. If you are wishing to nominate the same individual for multiple awards, you will need to complete one form per nomination. To complete the nomination form you will need to upload a copy of the nominees resume.

Nomination deadline is March 23rd. Applications are reviewed and selected by a review committee. Award recipients will be recognized at the Second Annual Leadership Summit on April 29th. The Leadership Summit is co-sponsored by The Office of Student Life, The W Leadership Program, and the Student Government Association HERE.
