A unique and cherished “W” tradition, the Magnolia Chain is symbolic of the link between all MUW graduates and the future success of the class of 2008. The chain, made from magnolia leaves and blossoms, is woven by the members of the sophomore class, the sister class to the seniors. Seniors who leave the ceremony with a magnolia blossom are guaranteed a bright future. We hope you will participate in this beautiful and time-honored tradition.
All students who graduated in December
2007, or who will graduate in May 2008 or August 2008, are eligible to
participate if an application for degree has been filed in the
Registrar’s Office in accordance with policies for participation in the
Commencement ceremony. Participants in the Mag Chain ceremony must wear
a cap and gown.
