GEO 101 ELEMENTS OF WORLD GEOGRAPHY. (3) Fall.
An introductory course dealing with the fundamentals of the earth's surface, both physical and cultural factors. These factors include landforms, climate, man and man's achievements. The relationships existing between man and his environment are illustrated by type examples.

GEO 302 GEOGRAPHY OF NORTH AMERICA. (3) Prerequisite: Geography 101 or permission of the instructor.
A regional treatment of the continent and the natural regions forming the basis for subdivisions. Political and economic aspects are considered together with the place of geographic factors in the development of the continent.

GEO 304 GEOGRAPHY OF LATIN AMERICA. (3)
A physical and cultural study of Latin America. Physical environments, climates, culture, urbanization, and land-use patterns are examined.

GEO 309 GEOGRAPHY OF AFRICA. (3) Prerequisite: Geography 101 or consent of the instructor.
A survey of the physical and cultural bases of Africa with emphasis on landforms, climate, soil, vegetations and an analysis of broad human groupings followed by treatment of specific type example countries stressing current economic developments which are an outgrowth of the physical and cultural environment.

GEO 351 ENVIRONMENTAL GEOGRAPHY. (3) Recommended for primary and secondary education social studies majors. Spring.
A study of the relationship between humans and their environment. Major topics include ecosystems, natural resources, the effects of human activities on the environment and how humans can affect their responses within the confines of natural laws and culture.
