Science Enrichment Program at MUW presents summer workshops

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women’s Science Enrichment Program will offer summer workshops in June and July.
MUW’s Science Enrichment Program is a K-12 educational outreach program that is a continuing effort by the Department of Sciences and Mathematics. This program strives to provide quality science and mathematics education opportunities for students and teachers in northeast Mississippi and beyond.
Topics and dates:
Algebra Access: Foundations--June 11-15
A Drop in the Bucket--June 18-22
Mathematics Mania: Fun with Fractions--July 9-13
Sustainable Living Strategies and Design--July 16-20
The Earth and Beyond--July 24 & 25
"The Science Enrichment Program is very excited about the quality of programs being offered to students and teachers this summer, all at no cost to participants. Teachers will also be eligible for CEUs and stipends. Expert instructors will present sessions on ecology, math, water resources, green architecture, as well as earth and space science,” said Kenny Langley, SEP project coordinator.
All programs will emphasize hands-on and field-based lessons which make them much more fun, engaging and memorable.

Workshops are free of charge to participants. All program efforts are sustained by generous congressional grant dollars.
