MUW to offer free Frank Sinatra Tribute Concert during Homecoming

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Crooner sensation, Nick Hilscher, will take center stage at Rent Auditorium, Whitfield Hall, on the campus of Mississippi University for Women Friday, April 20, 8 p.m.
The Frank Sinatra Tribute Concert, which is open to the public, is being presented by the Leslie F. Threadgill Lecture and Artist Series during MUW’s Homecoming set for April 20-22.
Hilscher, a native of Atlanta, Ga., began his professional career in his teens, playing piano and singing in the Atlanta area. Since his early days, Hilscher spent many years with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, performing an average of 300 shows a year in venues such as the Hollywood Bowl and New York City’s Birdland. He is now leading the Glenn Miller Orchestra. His touring has taken him to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Europe, South America and Japan. Hilscher’s performance in Columbus will include songs from Ol’ Blue Eyes himself--Mr. Frank Sinatra.
The Threadgill family has been a longtime partner of MUW. The Leslie F. Threadgill Lecture and Artist Series endowment, held by the MUW Foundation and given by her family, is MUW's largest lectureship endowment. The fund promotes family and cultural influences to advance the artistic and intellectual environment of the university and to strengthen the cultural bond between the university and the public. The endowment has brought symphony and popular music performances to the campus free of charge for MUW students, faculty, staff and their families.
Admission to the concert is free and guests must have a ticket to enter. For more information, contact the MUW Foundation Offices at (877) 462-8439, ext. 7148, (662) 329-7148 or
