Kempker presented Humanities Teacher Award by MHC

COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Dr. Erin Kempker, assistant professor of history at Mississippi University for Women, was recently presented the Humanities Teacher Award by the Mississippi Humanities Council.
The Mississippi Humanities Council presents the Humanities Teacher Award to one faculty member from each four year university and community college. Kempker was chosen as the MUW recipient for this award through nominations and votes by her colleagues. She was accompanied by several of her colleagues at the banquet held in Jackson.
Dr. Brian Anderson, chair of the Department of History, Political Science, Geography, said, “Dr. Kempker's award can be credited to her tireless work in developing and improving courses in 20th century American history. Her upper-level courses run the range from the history of American women, religion and movies, and are judged by her enrollments and course evaluations as some of the most popular in the College of Arts and Sciences.”
Kempker has taught at MUW for three years. She researches conservative and feminist women’s politics in the postwar era, specifically focusing on grassroots activists in the Midwest.
