MUW Office of Community Living receives Educational Benchmarking award

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women’s Office of Community Living was recently awarded the 2011 Educational Benchmarking Commitment to Excellence Award – Gold Institution.
The office received the award in recognition of its annual participation in the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International/Educational Benchmarking, Inc. Resident Assessment in the last five years.
Community living is part of EBI’s ACUHO-I Benchmarking Services Team consisting of experienced residence hall professionals.
The Resident Assessment gives insight into and emphasizes the importance of resident perceptions.
Sirena Parker, MUW director of community living, said, “The Office of Community Living strives to create a safe and comfortable learning and living environment for all students. We continue to utilize this assessment tool in order to be aware of areas that we can improve on."
The mission of Educational Benchmarking, Inc. is “to provide assessment services that improve higher education professionals’ ability to enhance the quality of the education experience for college and university students.”
