MUW to host MLK Day Convocation
COLUMBUS, Miss. – The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be commemorated on the campus of Mississippi University for Women on Monday, Jan. 16 at noon in the Nissan Auditorium, Parkinson Hall.
This year’s MLK Day Convocation theme is "What Is Your Life's Blueprint?" The program will highlight the experiences of domestic workers within the city of Columbus as well as Dr. Alma Turner and Ezra Baker for their dedication to the area as lifelong educators.
Entertainment will be provided by MUW's United Harmony Gospel Choir, the Columbus High School Gospel Choir and Youth for Christ.
The program is sponsored by MUW’s Office of Student Life, the Young Black Leadership Association and Columbus' Professional Leadership Alliance. It is free and open to the public.
