Oppenheimer presents at Third International Conference on Science in Society

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Dr. Bonnie Oppenheimer, professor of mathematics at Mississippi University for Women, presented at the Third International Conference on Science in Society held in Washington, D.C., Aug. 5-7.

She presented research conducted over a three-year period titled “STEM Research: What the Pictures Tell Us.”

"The conference was a great place to hear about other interdisciplinary research being conducted in the U.S. and in other countries,” said Oppenheimer.

The research was conducted at MUW and at Mississippi State University. Dr. Oppenheimer works with a research group based in the Department of Communication at MSU led by Professor Mark Goodman.

Oppenheimer also is associate chair of the Department of Sciences and Mathematics at MUW.
