Alumna's exhibit `Seeing Red' opens Aug. 12 at the RAC
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Mississippi University for Women alumna Jane Robbins Kerr's exhibit titled "Seeing Red" will be on display at the Rosenzweig Arts Center Aug. 12-31.
Kerr graduated from The W in 1955 with a degree in math and a minor in chemistry. She is from Jackson, but has spent most of her adult life in Atlanta, Ga. After retiring from a real estate career, she traveled the world photographing people and places. During that period, she spent a lot of time in Santa Fe, N.M., photographing the landscape of northern New Mexico.
She is a writer, a painter, a storyteller and now tries to tell her story with her camera. For the past six years, she has photographed extensively in Mississippi and the rural South capturing what is before it becomes what was.
