MUW to host exceptional transfer students as part of McDevitt Day

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women will host McDevitt Day on Friday, March 25.

McDevitt Day is an event that provides academically exceptional community college transfer students an opportunity to compete for several scholarships. They include the McDevitt Scholarship, Hearin Scholarship and other university scholarships.

The McDevitt Day Scholarship includes a two-year full tuition, room and board award which is renewable and includes a small book stipend allowance.

Recipients of the scholarship must fully participate in the MUW Ina E. Gordy Honors College.

Hearin Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated leadership within the applicant’s respective school or community. The scholarship includes an average award of $5,000 each year for two years.

Students who do not receive the Hearin Scholarship are considered for the W-Leader Scholarship of $2,000 for two years.

University Transfer Scholarships consist of an average award of $7,500.
