Elementary students to participate in enrichment programs at MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Sale International Studies Magnet School students will be back on the campus of Mississippi University for Women Feb. 7-11 as part of the Kids ‘N College program hosted by the College of Education and Human Sciences.
“The enrichment program is for Sale students who scored well on the testing given at the beginning of the semester,” according to Dr. Monica Riley, interim department chair. “Our students will be working with these students in math, science, social studies and language arts.”
Approximately 80 students, kindergarten through fifth grade, will participate in this year’s program from 9 a.m. to noon in the Education Building. Activities will be led by about 20 university elementary education majors completing their block semester prior to their teacher internships.
In addition, students from MUW will be at Sale working with children who need remediation.
The students from Sale will return to campus April 11-15 and focus on activities such as culinary, music and art.
