Gregory to speak at Gordy Honors College series at MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss.—Dick Gregory, a civil rights activist and comedian, will be the guest speaker for the Ina E. Gordy Honors College Spring Forum Series at Mississippi University for Women, on Thursday, Feb. 10.
The native of St. Louis, Mo., and nutritionist has written more than 10 books and appeared on several television shows.
At the series, he will speak about his work as a civil rights activist.
Other speakers include:
A presentation on March 10 by Dr. Amy Pardo, professor at MUW, on “The First Steel Magnolia: Bette Davis and the Art of Belledom.”
Rudy Reyes will give the presentation “Generation Kill” on March 31. Reyes has served with the Marine’s First Reconnaissance Battalion and is a veteran of Afghanistan’s Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Dr. Terry Equaoje will present “My Real ‘Coming to America’ Story” on April 14. Equaoje is a native of Nigeria.
The series concludes on April 28 with the Honors Research Symposium, a presentation of undergraduate research completed by seniors in the Gordy Honors College.
