MUW faculty and staff members inducted into Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Three faculty and staff members of Mississippi University for Women were among 25 individuals inducted into the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
The highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky is that of Kentucky Colonel, and colonelships are commissioned for an individual’s contribution to his or her community, state or nation and for special achievements.
Eric Harlan and Dr. Van Roberts, both in the Department of Communication, and Chris Jenkins, assistant director of public affairs, were recognized for their efforts to produce a marketing video for the Columbus Housing Authority.
They were nominated by Kentucky Colonel Keith Worshaim for their continued charitable work in the community. Worhsaim currently works with the Wakaishu Judo Club and is retired from the Columbus Police Department.
The recipients were inducted at an informal luncheon held at the Barrister’s House Bed & Breakfast.
