Ogle a panelists for Alabama-Mississippi Rural Tourism Conference
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Erich Ogle, interim director of Mississippi University for Women’s Culinary Arts Institute, recently spoke at the Alabama-Mississippi Rural Tourism Conference held in Oxford.
Ogle and John T. Edge, director of the Southern Foodways Alliance in Oxford, were among panel speakers during a question and answer session on rural culinary tourism.
“We discussed ways that rural communities can use recipes, food and food festivals to draw tourist dollars to their community,” Ogle said.
The Alabama-Mississippi Rural Tourism Conference is a collaborative effort focused on assisting smaller communities in bolstering tourism. Hosted alternately between Alabama and Mississippi, the annual conference is open to anyone interested in the rural tourism industry.
