To Write Love on Her Arms’ event at MUW to feature student memoirs
COLUMBUS, Miss. – This year’s To Write Love on Her Arms’ project at Mississippi University for Women will feature six-word memoirs by students on the theme of pain and hope.
“Music and Memoirs” will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. on the Demonstration Field (rain location Rent Auditorium, Whitfield Hall). The public is invited to attend.
The student memoirs will be presented and also have the chance to be published in a book that TWLOHA is co-publishing with Smith Magazine.
There also will be entertainment provided by local musicians, as well as a video presentation and activity stations set up by campus organizations.
To Write Love On Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also invest directly into treatment and recovery.
TWLOHA-MUW is the university’s chapter with the hope of spreading the word to all students that no one is alone, and it’s OK to ask for help.
