Oktoberfest 2010 to be held at MUW

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Student Programming Board at Mississippi University for Women is gearing up for Oktoberfest 2010, which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. on the Demonstration Field.

Oktoberfest is a “carnival-type” event that allows campus organizations to give back to MUW and the community, as well as raise money for the campus organizations. This year tickets will be sold for 25 cents each.

“There will be an array of booths including face painting and decorating your own dessert to Egg-a-Bowhead and gumbo,” said Symone Bounds, student director of the Student Programming Board. All ages are welcomed to participate in this year’s costume contest. Photo booths also will be available.

The Masker Board Band and United Harmony will perform.

The event is open to the public.
