`An Inspirational Evening’ to feature Fonzworth Bentley at MUW

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women and Mississippi Valley State University will sponsor “An Inspirational Evening” with Fonzworth Bentley on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in Rent Auditorium, Whitfield Hall.

Bentley, who got his start as Sean Combs’s personal valet and assistant, is the host of MTV’s “From G’s to Gents.” He will discuss his book “Advance Your Swagger – How to Use Manners, Confidence and Style to Get Ahead.” The presentation will feature a 35-minute lecture and a 20-minute question and answer session. He also will speak on current dynamics of the state of the entertainment business and its global impact and the power of “cool.”

“We are excited about the opportunity to have Mr. Derrick Watkins aka Fonzworth Bentley visit our campus. I'm certain that his message will empower, motivate and encourage our students and community to pursue their dreams. Furthermore, we thank Mississippi Valley State University for the opportunity to collaborate on this initiative,” said Phillip “Flapp” Cockrell, director of student life.
