Life enrichment courses at MUW range from social networking to wine tasting
COLUMBUS, Miss. – This fall, Mississippi University for Women’s Office of Continuing Education will offer 29 courses as part of its community Life Enrichment Program.
"I am impressed with the increasing number of community members who want to sign up for our courses and with people like Peter Imes, Ralph Null and Rufus Ward, who are experts in their field and volunteer to teach our courses," said Dr. Barbara Moore, director of continuing education.
Last fall, continuing education began a new Life Enrichment Program, offering non-credit courses to people in the local community. The first semester they offered six courses and 24 people participated. Last spring, over 89 participants enrolled in 12 courses. This fall, 29 courses will be offered and they are expecting more than 150 participants.
A couple of the courses are back by popular demand, including Putting It On Paper: Getting Started With Your Novel and Social Media Update. Other courses offered this fall will include bridge, yoga, French, genetics and wine tasting.
Classes start on Sept. 20. The fee for each term is $35, which allows participants to take as many courses as they like for the term.
