MUW welcomes new students to campus

COLUMBUS, Miss. - - The Office of Student Life at Mississippi University for Women is preparing for its upcoming orientation sessions to acclimate incoming freshmen and transfer students to life in college.

Freshmen will have a choice to attend an earlier orientation session June 16, 17 or a later session scheduled for June 27, 28. Participants are encouraged to attend both days to include an overnight stay to get the experience of what it is like to live in a residence hall.

Orientation for transfer students will be on June 18.

Sessions will include aiding students in pre-registering for fall classes, an opportunity to meet with an advisor, a display of social organizations and open recreation time at Stark Recreation Center. There also will be a session for parents and family members on the second day of freshmen orientation to introduce them to the university and provide them with ways to be supportive.

For more information, contact the Office of Student Life at (662) 241-6974 or (662) 329-7350.
